Why is Oklahoma so dominant in college football

Why is Oklahoma so dominant in college football?
In the last decade Oklahoma: Won more games than any major conference team while also playing the toughest schedule of the decade. Played in FOUR National Championship Games. Played in SEVEN BCS Games. Beat the second winningest team- Texas 6-4. Won 6 Big-12 Championships. Put three of the top four players into the NFL this year! How can a state with less than 4 million people dominate the whole country? P.S. OU was also the dominant team in the 50's, 70's, and 80's.

Cause theres nothing else to do in oklahoma
2 :
Because they have an Ohioan as head coach. Everyone knows this, why bother posting the question?
3 :
played in four and won how many? playing the toughest schedule by whos standards? Do you mean the team that lost to boise st? They were very good but not sure about dominant. They have a great coach though
4 :
Because they get their players from Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
5 :
Because they get good recruits like the rest of the power houses.
6 :
They are good, however, Texas, Florida, USC, Ohio St, are all good too, even Miami and FSU had their times,

Well the answer to your question is likely cheating: NCAA probation in 1956, 1960, 1973, 1980, 1988, and 2007. Note that each decade of dominance you noted was also a decade of cheating. These are major violations. Not the silly minor infraction nonsense. I see no reason to be proud of this record. All of that NFL talent in 2009 and still OU couldn't find a way to beat mediocre teams like BYU, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech. That seems like a waste of resources to me. How many of those 4MM people are actually good enough at football to get a scholarship and how many of the OU players on scholarship are imported from Texas? Looking at that history of cheating it seems that Oklahoma is such a garbage place to live that the only way they can get players out of Texas is to cheat. And no matter how great Oklahoma is or isn't the football team hasn't won a significant football game or beaten a quality opponent in several years. I see nothing to be proud of here. Nothing.

Why can Oklahoma fans only write that the Sooners have played in the National Championship game? Because the Sooners are over-rated and get stomped whenever they wander out of the comfort of their weak conference! Sooners Suck!
9 :
Because in Oklahoma, college football is king. Also the Big 12 has stunk for the most part over the past decade. Sorry guys, but for overall competition look at the SEC. BTW, what did Oklahoma do against Florida? Oh yeah! THe same thing they did against USC.

Strong Recruiting

Highway patrol isn't something you go to college for, try a police academy or something.
2 :
If you have the potential to go to college first of all I think you should drop the highway patrol job thing. You know you can do something better than that. Especially with the economy and all, people who are being paid highly are those that are highly educated such as doctors, accountants, lawyers. I am being harsh because I know you can do better than that. Please don't settle for less.
3 :
First of all learn to capitalize. Google colleges in Oklahoma and go from there.

Your schools website or fin aid office may have a list of all the scholarships you can apply for. Just don't look for them for Criminal Justice majors, you won't find anything. There are several small college towns in that state if you drive through slow enough they will throw that major in your car with you.
