Oklahoma- best defense BY FAR in college football?
I told you guys the Sooners 'D' was going to be beastly. Even I didn't think they would pitch two straight shutouts though. Especially over Tulsa who has the #1 offense in college football for the last two years straight! WOW!

I am no devils advocate...but holding Tulsa does not make you the best defense Ohio State, held Toledo to 0 points today....before today, they scored over 100 in their first 2 games....and I am not going around saying they have the best defense...but I would say probably top 5

And, you guys wonder why people hate Sooner fans. your playing tune up games. and lost one of em. Oklahoma runs up scores on beaten teams, and Jesus hates them for it.

Tulsa lost their QB and RB from last year. This year their offense isn't going to be as good. It won't even be the best in their conference. Also, it's easy to have the #1 offense in college football when you play in the Conference USA where defense is almost non-existent except for a couple teams in the league. I'll be impressed when Oklahoma gets back to beating top-25 opponents.

THey've done a great job stepping it up since losing Bradford so it's out of necessity. I think Florida or OU, both are outstanding.

I'm a OU fan but I think they are a long way from a good defense.But they did look better than the Longhorns today. I think OU will spank Texas this season.

I agree we have a much better D than last year but don't pull a Luke. I'll wait till we play a stronger team to say we have the #1 D. Our D didn't do alot to BYU I'm afraid. I still think we have a shot now that things are coming together. UT be warned OU D has stepped up since last year and could cause troubles. Although I hate to brag about our team and hype us to then lose and look bad. Lets have the games tell the story. Boomer Sooners!!!

Ya, don't pull a Luke! It's to early to tell, they just might. OSU looks pretty good on defense, although less impressive after Washington shut down USC.

Yeah, they held BYU to probably the fewest points they'll score all year.

I'm say they are probably the best defense in the Big 12 right now. But as we all know the Big 12 hasn't been known for great defenses the last few years. (Before you start I'm an Big 12 fan). I'm really looking to OU playing conference games and seeing if they are that good. The OU defense has looked great against the teams they have played so far. BYU being the best offense they have played. OU plays 5 teams in this weeks top 20. 4 of those 5 are known for great offenses. For OU's weaking offense to out score them it will take a great defense. We will have to just wait and see what the season brings.
